    Ruikan joined UN Women in January 2018 and is now serving as Partnership Specialist, responsible for developing and maintaining UN Women China office’s strategic relationship with government, international development partners and private sectors, etc.

    Before UN Women, Ruikan worked for government department, embassy and international organisation for over 12 years, led strategic development, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and provided technical support to public health and social development projects in areas including newborn health, child health and nutrition as well as HIV/AIDS, etc.

    Yang Ruikan holds a MSc in Public Health from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, and a BSc in Chinese Medicine Pharmacy from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.

    Diane Wang is the founder, chairperson, and CEO at DHgate, one of the leading cross-border B2B e-commerce marketplaces in China founded in 2004. By connecting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from every corner of the world with high-quality products, DHgate takes a stand for fair world trade, upholds diversity and creativity.

    Diane has leveraged over 30 years of business and digital experience to drive DHgate’s mission to empower everyone through digitalization. The critical focus is accelerating digital transformation for MSMEs and partners and empowering women and societies through digital inclusion. Under her leadership, as of 31 December 2020, the Company actively engaged 2.3 million sellers and 36 million buyers from 223 countries/regions, with more than 25 million live listings on the platform annually. In addition, the Company cooperated with more than 100 logistics service providers around the world, providing over 100 logistics routes, 40 local warehouses in China, and more than 10 overseas warehouses abroad, serving DHgate customers and others.

    Before this, she served as the youngest senior executive at Microsoft China and the only female with a high position at Cisco. Then, in 1999, as the first generation of e-commerce entrepreneurs in China, she established, China’s first B2C trading platform.

    Diane is passionate about driving the digital inclusion agenda for MSMEs and women, collaborating with international associations and agencies. She is Co-chair of Business 20 (B20) Indonesia’s Women In Business Council., member of APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), Chair of APEC Women Leadership Summit, BRICS Women’s Business Alliance Chinese National Chapter Member, Member of High-level Advisory Council of World Internet Conference, and Chair of 50 Cross-border E-Commerce Leaders in China, to name just a few of her external positions.

    Ms. Atsuko Okuda was appointed as the Regional Director in April 2020. Prior to the new assignment, she was the Chief of the ICT and Development Section of the ICT and Disaster Risk Reduction Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), in Bangkok, Thailand from 2015 to 2020. At ESCAP, she promoted the development of regional broadband connectivity and inclusive broadband through the implementation of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway (AP-IS) initiative.

    Before joining ESCAP, Ms. Okuda served the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in Beirut as the Chief of the Governance and State building Section and as the Team Leader responsible for ESCWA Knowledge Management. Prior to it, she contributed to the Umoja project, the UN Secretariat ERP initiative, as Testing Manager at the Department of Management, UNHQ for 2 years. From 2002 to 2010, she was responsible for promoting a wide range of ICT for development initiatives at ESCAP and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) as Senior IT Officer. She started her UN career in the area of ICT for Development at the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, the Bureau for Development Policy and UNDP Country Office in Bhutan from 1997 to 2002.

    Ms. Okuda obtained BA from Kyoto University (Japan), MA from Helsinki University (Finland) and PhD from the United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (Netherlands). Her doctoral thesis focuses on the topic of e-governance in the context of anti-corruption efforts. Her academic articles on broadband and AI were published by the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy. Among other publications and research papers, she was the author of a chapter on e-resilience in the 2018 UNDESA E-government Survey and various blogs on digital transformation at ESCAP and ITU.

    Maya has a master’s degree in business law from the University of Gadjah Mada in Indonesia. She is an HR professional with more than 20 years of experience, both in the private and development sectors.

    Prior to IBCWE, Maya joined WWF Indonesia as Head of People Development and Management, where she developed a 3-years roadmap for people development programs, including the internal trainer group for the organization. She spent 4 years as Southeast Asia Regional HR Manager for the World Agroforestry Center and initiated the Junior Scientist Forum, the development program for junior scientists.

    In collaboration with UN Women, Maya is currently serving as a judge for the Women Empowerment Principles (WEP) Award for Indonesia and Asia Pacific region.

    Maya is appointed as one of the advocates for the G20 EMPOWER Program, representing Indonesia in the G20 forum, along with other business leaders from Indonesia. She also assists the B20 Secretariat in developing gender equality policy recommendations from a business perspective.

    Chetna Sinha is the Founder-Chairperson of the Mann Deshi Bank and Mann Deshi Foundation.

    Chetna Sinha passionately believes that empowering poor rural women transforms and fuels growth in an economy. In 1997 she set up the Mann Deshi Mahila Sahakari Bank, India's first bank for and by rural women. Today, the Mann Deshi Bank has loaned over 780 million and regularly creates new financial products to support the needs of female micro-entrepreneurs.

    In 2006, Sinha founded the first business school for rural women in India, and in 2013, she launched a toll-free helpline and the first Chambers of Commerce for women micro-entrepreneurs in the country. In 2012, she set up a community empowerment program for farmers and promoted women farmers company and women farmers organizations.

    In January 2018, Sinha served as a co-chair of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and as a Co-Chair of Financial Inclusion at the W20 Summit (2018) in Argentina. Later that year, she was awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar - the highest civilian award for women in India - by the President of India. She is a Member of the BRICS Women's Business Alliance. She is also a member of the Gender Equality Advisory Council (2022) appointed during Germany's G7 Presidency.

    Mann Deshi has supported over half a million women and aims to reach one million women by 2024.

Prior to holding the position of President Director, Ira served as Beauty & Personal Care Director at PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (2017-2020), Managing Director for Unilever Foods Solutions South East Asia (2015-2017), and Ice Cream, Media and Consumer Market Insight Director at PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (2010-2015). She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Indonesia (1995), majoring in Financial Accounting.
